Clearing Up Misunderstandings Leads to Growth and Improvements

Opposition 38 is composed of Tui, Joy, the Lake and youngest daughter below, and Li, Fire, Clarity and the middle daughter above. This hexagram means misunderstandings. The fourth and fifth lines changing indicate that we need to take an active role in clearing up misunderstanding. The fourth line says that we have a companion of like mind who is distant and needs to be brought closer so that we can accomplish our task. The fifth line says that we have misunderstandings with a superior, accomplished person that we have to
'bite through the wrappings' with so he can help us. He knows he is important and will not help us without vigorous action on our part. The resulting hexagram is Decrease 41, which has Tui below, as in Opposition, and Ken, the Mountain, keeping still and the youngest son, above. Decrease indicates the beginning of a period of flowering, of growth and improvement. It is vital to clear up misunderstandings so we can improve our circumstances.

  1. Lots of misunderstandings in the news -- here is the one about SC Gov. Sanford in Argentina not Appalachian Trail.
