The resulting hexagram is Influence or Wooing 31 composed of Ken, the mountain, keeping still and the youngest son, below Tui, the lake, joy, and youngest daughter. Influence indicates the scope of all social relationships from parent and child to husband and wife to ruler and citizen. It represents an influence that is unconscious and unwilled, not one we desired, and the relationships it refers to are objective conditions not personal or intimate.
Thus, the overall significance is that when Revolution is necessary, but the time has not yet come, we are best to go about our daily life, attending to our affairs and relationships with an objective awareness that change is necessary and will come in time.
The last paragraph on page 4 of the New York Times editorial liked to in the divination uses language similar to that found in the divination. I read it several hours after writing today's divination. Hmmm.... spooky!
